The number one difference between a desktop computer and a laptop computer is its portability. Desktop computers are designed to remain stationary, connected to a power source, while laptop computers have the ability to remain mobile because of the internal battery. Whether you have a desktop or a laptop computer, every computer has the same primary function…to serve YOU. If you are reading this, you may be a Christian, or at least have some knowledge of God. Each of us were created to have a relationship with God. We were designed to be in Fellowship with God, to be completely dependent on God similar to the desktop computer. We have been created to remain connected to our “power source”, but every now and then we become dependent on our own “power” or we develop a laptop mentality. Laptops only need charging when the battery gets low, and sometimes we treat God the same way. We only need him when we need a charge. When our power gets low. Why? Because if we aren’t mindful of it, our flesh is always looking to focus on itself, rather than acknowledging that everything that it is, is because of God. Laptops or some christians rely on their internal power source rather than relying on God. But if we look back over our lives, and retrace the steps of how we got to where we are, we will quickly see that it had nothing to do with our own power. God literally powers us to be who we are, but once we feel charged, or that we don’t need God any more, we revert back to the laptop mentality…”I don’t need you until I need you, I can do this on my own.” NO YOU CAN”T! You were never created to live this life on your own. God wants each of us to go back to our desktop mindset. The mindset that says, “I can’t function without my power source…I need you for every moment of my life!” It’s time to get our eyes off of ourselves and focus back on the one who brought us to where we are, and leads us to where we are going to be. Get back to the desktop!
